Determining Belt Length

Belt Length is calculated to the center of the 6 pairs of holes — which are 7/8" apart.
Remember: It's better to have a belt slightly longer than you need, than one too short.
One reason, aside from the possibility of putting on weight, is that it keeps open the option of wearing your Defense Belt™ over a jacket.

FITTING — USING a PERSON'S WORN BELT and TAPE MEASURE
This is perhaps the most accurate method — either for oneself, or for a surprise present.
Measure the length of a currently worn belt
FROM: where the prong crosses the buckle;
TO: the most currently used hole.
If in doubt, go slightly larger, not smaller — you can always take the belt in.

FITTING — USING a PERSON'S WAIST and TAPE MEASURE

Measure the circumference of the waist with the same snugness that is typical when a belt is worn. Wearing a belt and measuring over it tends to be more accurate than measuring a waist without a belt due to the fact that many individuals like to wear their belts snugly. Using a thin belt and buckle is better than using a thick belt with a large buckle, because this minimizes adding the thickness of the big belt and buckle to the waist.
